Trump administration: Trump’s proposed budget cuts are ‘unjustified’

The Trump administration is calling for a budget of $3 billion to be spent on water treatment and clean-up projects, but the plan includes no spending on water infrastructure, and no plans to spend money on a $1.6 billion project to restore water quality to parts of the U.S. east coast, according to Axios.

The White House budget would also slash the agency’s budget by nearly $1 billion, with the goal of finding savings of up to $100 million per year over the next decade.

The plan would also significantly reduce the agency in its work to combat Legionnaires’ disease, the Department of Agriculture, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which would see their budgets slashed by nearly 20 percent, the report said.
