Boston Water Treatment Works to Offer Water-Free Jobs for Veterans

The Boston Water and Sewer Authority (BW&S) has launched a new initiative to recruit veterans for jobs at its water treatment plant in the Bronx.

In a news release, BW&S says it will offer free, on-site water treatment to veterans who are interested in working there.

The Boston Water District (BWD) said on Monday that it is also launching an initiative to help veterans find jobs in the water treatment plants that were hit hard by Superstorm Sandy.

The WB&S announcement came as Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, a former president of the U.S. Army, and other elected officials and business leaders have called for tougher flood mitigation measures in the city.
